How to Transfer Emails from Yahoo, Outlook and others to Gmail?
Gmail has become one of the most used services for sending and receiving emails. Many times, people find the need to use one single service to access all the emails from one service. Importing all your old emails from other services is easy to Gmail as this Google service uses an inbuilt migration tool by ShuttleCloud that allows Gmail users to import everything for free. Here is a step by step guide on how to transfer emails from other email services to Gmail:
Step 1: Log into your Gmail account, click on the gear icon, then click on settings.
Step 2: Go to ‘Accounts and Import’ and then click on Import Mail and Contacts.
Step 3: You will see a fresh window. Type in the email address you want to migrate emails from and click on Continue.
Step 4: Sign into the email address you want to migrate emails from and confirm the import.
Step 6: You’ll see a fresh window. To go to the next step, type in your credentials and sign in.
Step 7: Now, you have to give the tool the permission to access your email. Read over the page and check for the permissions it will have. Click on Yes after you are done.
Step 8: If the app has got access to your email, you should see the “Authentication successful”. Now, you can close the window.
Step 9: After closing the second window, you can now choose what information you want to import into your Gmail account. Check all the relevant boxes and click on Start Import.
Step 10: Click OK and then close the window.
After you’ve clicked Start Import, you will have to wait for some time as the tool starts migrating all the data that you have chosen to import. This might take two hours or even two days, depending upon the data.
By going to Accounts and Import via Settings, you can keep a check on the status of the import. If you want to stop the import, in case you used an email address by mistake, go to Accounts and Import and click Stop.
