How to Transfer Contacts from One Gmail Account to Another?
Android backs up all the contacts automatically to the default Gmail account of the device. Quite often people change their Gmail account and start cribbing about losing their contacts stored on the previous Gmail account. Thankfully, there’s a way that allows users to transfer all the contacts stored in the previous Gmail account. Here is a step by step guide on how to transfer contacts from one Gmail account to another:
Using a PC or Mac:
Step 1: Head to ‘contacts.google.com on your PC.
Step 2: Click on the ‘More’ option.
Step 3: Choose the ‘Export’ option from the drop-down menu.
Step 4: In the next step, select all the contacts you want to transfer and export it as ‘Google CSV format.
Step 5: Click the ‘Export’ button and choose the location on your PC where you want to save the file.
Step 6: Logout from the source Gmail account.
Step 7: Login using the account credentials of the new account.
Step 8: Instead of the ‘Export’ option, choose the ‘Import’ option, select the CSV file to import.
Using an Android Device:
Step 1: Open the Google Contacts app on your phone. If it is not installed, download it using Google Play Store.
Step 2: Tap on the ‘Menu’ button.
Step 3: Scroll down and choose the ‘Settings’ option.
Step 4: Choose the option ‘Export.’
Step 5: Now, remove the old account and add the new one.
Step 6: Once done, head back to the Contacts app.
Step 7: Tap the Menu button.
Step 8: Choose the Import option from the Import/Export section.
Step 9: Now, Tap ‘Import from storage’ and select Google from the prompt.
