How to Delete Voice Recordings Stored by Amazon Alexa?

There have been several complaints by people about Amazon Alexa, storing all the voice interactions and transcripts on Amazon’s server. the company has also confirmed that they store the commands permanently until a user chooses to delete them manually. Here’s a step by step guide on how to delete the recordings manually:

Method 1: Delete recordings one-by-one

Step 1: Head to Amazon website and log in to your account.

Step 2: Now, click on the drop-down menu placed near ‘Account & lists’ and choose the option ‘Manage your Content and Devices.’

Step 3: Head to the ‘Alexa Privacy’ section from the top.

Step 4: Choose the date range and click on the recording and delete them one by one.

Method 2: Delete all the recordings at one go

Step 1: Head to Amazon website and log in to your account.

Step 2: Now, click on the drop-down menu placed near ‘Account & lists’ and choose the option ‘Manage your Content and Devices.’

Step 3: Click on the ‘Devices’ tab and click on the registered Alexa device.

Step 4: Towards the bottom left corner, click on the option ‘Delete all recordings.’

Note: Deleting recording manually does not ensure that the recording and all the other data is no longer in Amazon’s hand.
