Apple, the tech giant, secured the domain name – PrivacyIsImportant.com, taking one step further towards maintaining users’ privacy. As per the WHOIS record, Apple registered for the domain name on Monday.
The records now show Apple Inc. as the organization, with its address, phone number, and domains-related email, under Registrant and Admin in contact information. The registrar is CSC, an agency that protects domain names for large organizations.
For now, no active website is linked with the domain, so it’s still not clear if or how Apple is planning to use it, but as per the rumors, the tech giant may be planning a privacy-focused marketing campaign based on the line of its “what happens on your iPhone, stays on your iPhone” billboard at CES 2019 in Las Vegas.
User’s privacy was always Apple’s first priority, which it believes is “a fundamental human right”, but a marketing campaign can give a reassurance to the customers of that position after a major FaceTime privacy vulnerability surfaced in late January.
