WhatsApp Users May Soon Be Allowed to Change Its App Colors: Report

The instant messaging app WhatsApp is likely working on a new feature. After this new feature is introduced, the WhatsApp users will be able to change colors in the chatbox according to their convenience and even opt for a darker shade of green for text on their screen.

There is no official announcement yet on when this feature is expected to roll out for all the Whatsapp users.

Off late WhatsApp has been engaged in developing a variety of different new and thrilling options on the messaging platform. It was just reported that WhatsApp is even engaged in a new function that may allow users to change the playback velocity of voice messages. The function is currently in beta and is being developed for iOS users.

With this feature, WhatsApp users will be allowed to speed up their voice notes. The feature will be released on WhatsApp version 2.21.60.11. The new voice notes feature will have three-speed levels for its users – 1x, 1.5x, and 2x. The users will be allowed to play the audio messages at any one of these speeds.

WhatsApp is reportedly even working on a WhatsApp Web Beta program for iOS users. This same feature was spotted for Android users in January and is now being developed for an iOS beta version as well. Once this feature is developed and rolled out in the future, it will allow users to publicly test multi-device support. This support will allow users to use WhatsApp Web without keeping their phones connected to the internet all through. This feature will at a later stage be made available for other mobile devices. If users want to join the beta program, they can link up to four desktop devices at once. This even includes the Facebook Portal service.

The report says that some of these features will likely not be immediately supported, like the deletion of messages, and the missing features will finally be added during the beta program. Some of the features like calling will likely be supported only if the recipient is also using the latest version of WhatsApp. The beta program will even be compatible with the WhatsApp Business app. Though there is no clarity on when these two features will be available to users in the public beta. If a user is not on the latest iOS beta version, they may not see these features as these are likely still under development.
